Formed in 1998, Abandon Entertainment owns or acquires equity positions in companies that have valuable distribution rights to film and television properties, and revenue producing online games.

These distribution rights are then exploited via agreements with Miramax/Dimension Films, Splendid Television, MGM, Intermedia, AOL, Vivendi Universal Interactive, and broadcast and cable networks.
