Arc Games Inc.

Description
Arc Games is a game publishing company founded in 2008 in Redwood Shores, California.
It was originally called Perfect World Entertainment and was a subsidiary of Perfect World Beijing. During Perfect World's ownership, the company mainly focused on publishing English-language international versions of the Asian online free-to-play games developed by Perfect World Beijing, but also distributed a few other games for other developers electronically as well as in retail packaging.
In 2022, the company was acquired by Gearbox Software and renamed to Gearbox Publishing San Francisco. Under Gearbox, it was the second office under the Gearbox Publishing label.
When Gearbox Software was sold to Take-Two Interactive on 28 March 2024, the San Francisco publishing company, with its belonging IPs and subsidiaries, remained with Embracer Group.
It was renamed to Arc Games Inc. on 8 March 2024, after their existing Arc brand used for their game launcher. On 26 November 2025, it was divested to Project Golden Arc (a company owned by the Arc Games management team) alongside Cryptic Studios for US$ 30 million, with financing from XD Entertainment. This deal included all intellectual properties assigned to it, while publishing rights to the Remnant: From the Ashes series were moved to THQ Nordic who owned the IP.
