Cinemaware, Inc. was formed in 2000 when Lars Fuhrken-Batista acquired the Cinemaware interactive entertainment software trademark and intellectual property previously owned by Cinemaware Corporation which had closed in 1991. The new company was headquartered in Burlingame, California, and lead by Mr. Batista and Sean Vesce.
Cinemaware's catalogue of hit game properties includes Defender of the Crown, SDI, The King of Chicago, Sinbad and the Throne of the Falcon, Rocket Ranger, The Three Stooges, Lords of the Rising Sun, It Came from the Desert, Wings and the TV Sports franchise. Several of these titles still reside among numerous "Best Games of All Time" lists in major game publications, including Computer Gaming World.
On 6 October 2005, eGames, Inc. announced their agreement to purchase substantially all of the assets of Cinemaware, Inc. Lars Fuhrken-Batista, President of Cinemaware, Inc. at that time, was to join eGames, Inc. as its new Vice President of Development.
Their portfolio was acquired by Starbreeze Studios on 31 May 2016, then Nordcurrent on 1 February 2024.
