Description

Formed in 1997 and initially based out of Los Angeles, Crave Entertainment, Inc. (also known as Crave Entertainment Group) is an independent game publisher. It was founded by Nima Taghavi, who also went on to found the full service videogame distribution and publishing operations known as SVG Distribution and also the United States branch of the video game distribution company Solutions 2 GO.

In its history, Crave had successful relationships with developers Liquid Entertainment, Irrational Games, Genki, Warthog, Dream Factory and Opus. In its later years, Crave worked closely with international strongholds Electronic Arts and Ubisoft Entertainment.

By 2005, Crave Entertainment's headquarters had moved from Los Angeles to Newport Beach, California.

In October 2005, Crave Entertainment was announced to have been bought by the music distributor Handleman Company in a deal worth 72 million USD. Prominent senior executives at the company, including COO Robert Dyer, CEO Nima Taghavi, and publisher president Michael Maas retained their positions with the sale.

On 24th February 2009 Fillpoint LLC, a company involved with distributing video games to national retailers (as well as providing online distribution, fulfillment, and e-commerce services for retailers), announced to have acquired Crave Entertainment (as well as Taghavi's other business, SVG Distribution) from Handleman Company.

Fillipoint LLC made risky moves in publishing games such as Deadliest Catch: Sea of Chaos and took on significant debt, ultimately leading to their bankruptcy in August 2012. They were sold to Crave Entertainment founder Nima Taghavi's third company, the United States subsidary of Solutions 2 GO. In June 2012, Taghavi hired on Crave's ex-COO Robert Dyer as the CEO of Solutions 2 GO.
