About
Daoka is a Belgian development studio formed in 2013 through the fusion of Ama Studios SA and a number of developers who were formerly with Appeal S.A. It is largely a continuation of the original team of Ama Studios, but after cutting ties with mother company Advanced Mobile Applications to gain independence.
In November 2013 the company released the Xbox One launch title Fighter Within, a continuation of the Kinect launch title Fighters Uncaged. A few months before, in August 2013, the studio announced to collaborate with Fresh3D S.A.R.L. (largely former Appeal developers) on a sequel to Outcast, after Fresh3D bought back the rights from Atari. This idea was changed when Daoka and Fresh3D launched a Kickstarter campaign in April 2014 to reboot the original Outcast game with a HD version. As the funding was not successful, it is not clear whether the teams are now still working on an HD reboot and/or a sequel.
