Digital Anvil, Inc.

Digital Anvil was a North American developer based in Austin, Texas. It was founded by Chris Roberts and other Origin employees in 1996. On 5 December 2000, the team was purchased by Microsoft. Chris Roberts left the company shortly afterwards to found Fever Pitch Studios.

In November 2005, Microsoft redeployed Digital Anvil employees to its game studios headquarters. Digital Anvil was officially dissolved on 31 January 2006. Its members later founded Embryonic Games with former Warthog employees.
