Fictions, Inc.

About
Fictions, Inc. (formerly Private Division) is an American video game publisher based in Los Angeles, California. The company was originally established in December 2017 as a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive, intended to support small to mid-sized independent studios developing so-called "triple-I" titles, games positioned between large-scale AAA productions and smaller indie projects.
During its time as Private Division, the label published and funded several acclaimed independent titles, including The Outer Worlds by Obsidian Entertainment, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey by Panache Digital Games, Disintegration by V1 Interactive, OlliOlli World and Rollerdrome by Roll7, and managed publishing for Kerbal Space Program and its sequel. The label also signed partnerships with studios such as Moon Studios, Evening Star, Piccolo Studio, Die Gute Fabrik, Yellow Brick Games, and Wētā Workshop.
In November 2024, Take-Two Interactive sold Private Division to Texas-based equity firm Haveli Investments as part of a strategic shift to focus on AAA and mobile titles. Following the acquisition, most of Private Division’s staff were laid off, and its studios Roll7 and Intercept Games were closed. In early 2025, reports surfaced that Haveli Investments had brought in former Annapurna Interactive employees—many of whom had departed that company in late 2024—to lead and restructure the publisher.
By mid-2025, the label was officially rebranded as Fictions, Inc., marking a new chapter for the company under its new leadership. The transition coincided with the reveal of LEGO Party and the continuation of publishing Beast of Reincarnation, a title developed by Game Freak (originally announced under Private Division as Project Bloom).
