Gotham Games was founded on July 22, 2002. The company was a software publishing label owned by Take-Two Interactive. The company was formed by Take-Two Interactive to publish budget-priced games, as well as licensed titles.

The company was closed sometime between October and December, 2003. Their entire software lineup was then published by Gathering of Developers or Global Star Software.
