Based in Plymouth, United Kingdom, Guildsoft was founded in 1989. The company publishes, markets, and distributes business, educational and home software in Western Europe and the U.K.
In 1996 Guildsoft was acquired by Datawatch Corporation as a subsidiary. The company was then sold by Datawatch to the BVRP Software Group in September 2001. In March 2007, BVRP Software Group changed its corporate name to Avanquest.
