iam8bit, Inc.

Iam8bit is a media production company, creative policy institute and art exhibition based in Los Angeles, California. It was established on 19th April 2005 by Jonathan Michael Gibson. An equal stake is held by Amanda White, who joined later on. Since its inception as an art event, iam8bit has become a lifestyle brand, focused on the artistic side of gaming. iam8bit is also a full-service production company, event house, and boutique marketing firm having created marketing and promotional materials, live events, commercial, television and film projects for a wide range of companies.

After producing special, limited editions of games for a while, the company branched out fully into games publishing with the Switch version of Ori and the Will of the Wisps. On 15th March 2022 the publishing label iam8bit Presents was introduced and the first title under that banner was Escape Academy in July 2022.
