Started in Germany, in 2004 elkware had three offices: elkware GmbH (Germany), elkware Inc. (USA) and elkware GmbH (UK). It was acquired by InfoSpace, Inc. in December 2004 to form one of the three game divisions of the company as Infospace Games Elkware, and it was eventually closed in September 2006.
