Mondadori New Media was founded in 1995 as the multimedia branch of Italian publishing group Arnoldo Mondadori Editore S.p.A. It is controlled by Fininvest, the Berlusconi family holding company.

Marina Berlusconi, daughter of controversial Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, is chairman of the Mondadori Group. At the time of writing it is the second biggest publishing company in Italy. It's headquartered in Segrate, Milan.
