Morning Star Multimedia was founded in 1995 by Dan Kitchen and Kevin Mitchell. The company was located in Ridgewood, New Jersey and was acquired by technology company Telegen Corporation in December 1996. Originally the company worked on interactive CD-Roms and Internet software but later on it developed many console games, Gameboy Color in particular, for publisher Majesco Sales, Inc.
