Sparklers

Sparklers was a budget label set up in 1985. It was a subsidiary of Creative Sparks, a trading name of Thorn EMI Computer Software. Later in the same year both software labels gained independence from Thorn EMI following a management buyout.

In July 1987, a mere six months after their purchase of Mikro-Gen the company went into receivership. Their back catalogue was acquired by Tynesoft, Alternative Software and Maynard International (Top Ten Software).
