Swordfish Studios Limited

Description
Swordfish Studios was founded in September 2002 by members of Rage Software, originally as a third party developer for the company. One month later, Rage Software was 'acquired' for no more than 1 pound. Some of the games they have worked on are Jonah Lomu Rugby, UEFA Striker, Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising and World Championship Rugby.
Next to the initial Birmingham studio, a second studio was established in Manchester in November 2006. In June 2005 the company was acquired by Vivendi Universal Games, but because of the merger Activision Blizzard in 2008, the studio was eventually sold. Monumental Games announced to have acquired Manchester division on 12 November 2008 and two days later, on 14 November 2008, Codemasters announced to have picked up the main Birmingham division, re-branding it Codemasters Birmingham.
