Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. is a Shizuoka-based japanese motorcycle and other motorized mobile products manufacturer founded by Genichi Kawakami in 1955 and it's a wholly owned subsidiary of Yamaha Corporation with worldwide operations.

The company that spawned Yamaha Motor branch was Nippon Gakki founded in 1953 managed by the same Yamaha Motor founder.

The first Yamaha model was the YA1 based on the based on the DKW's RT125

Currently the company is managed by the CEO Yoshihiro Hidaka.
