Zen Stúdió Kft

Description
Zen Studios (originally called RUBIK Interactive for a short time) was founded by a team of four in 2003 as a work for hire studio that developed engines, tools and ports for other titles. After establishing a financial footing, CEO Zsolt Kigyossy decided to take his love of pinball and task the team with creating a high quality pinball simulation. The result was the Pinball FX series, which continues to this day and has had a large number of entries across many platforms, as well as myriad add-on tables, many based on licensed properties and real-world pinball machines.
Though most well known for pinball games, Zen has created a number of generally well received original titles in various genres, like the CastleStorm tower defence series, rhythm martial arts game KickBeat and grid-based dungeon crawler Operencia: The Stolen Sun.
In November, 2020, Embracer Group announced that they had acquired Zen Studios through their Saber Interactivesubsidiary, which would be its parent. After financial struggles, Embracer sold Saber to Beacon Interactive (headed by Saber co-founder Matthew Karch in March, 2024, as part of a corporate restructuring effort. Embracer announced that it would be retaining Zen Studios and other Saber subsidiary 4A Games, though Saber had the option to purchase them at a later date. In September, 2024, Embracer announced it would be retaining ownership of both companies as direct subsidiaries, following Saber's early repayment of their acquisition debt.
