3D-Life

Description

3D-Life is a freeware simulation of cell growth based on Conway's Game of Life. Following the creation of the Conway's game Life Carter Bays took the concept and turned it into a 3-D model. This led to the discovery of objects that were not just stationary but which transformed and ‘moved in 3D space’.

This simulation offers the following collections of the 3D objects discovered by Carter Bays:* The following are based on ‘Life 4555’: Ball, Bronco, Glider, Weight, Cross, Rotor, Socket, & Step

  • These are based on ‘Life 5766’: Beehive, Blinker, Flashlight, Block & Glider

These objects can be modified as the player can modify individual cells and change various parameters such as the percentage of cells that will survive a generation.
