5 Realms of Cards

Game cover: 5 Realms of Cards

Description

The Realm of Cards was a happy and peaceful place defended by the great Sign of Suits on the Joker's Tower. One day evil forces destroyed this totem and devastation reigned. The player's task is to help princess Jokerina restore the Sign of Suits and bring peace to this troubled place.

5 Realms of Cards is a single player, mouse-controlled solitaire card game in which the player plays hands of cards and with each successful game, they unlock more features and advance the story. This is not a typical game of solitaire. Initially the only cards in the puzzle area are the Ace, Two, Three and Four, though other cards are added as the player progresses. The game is played by clicking on cards in sequence such that the second card is one higher or lower that the first, the third card is one higher or lower that the second and so on building up as long a chain as possible. Thus the two can be chained to either the Ace or the Three while the Ace can be chained to either the Two or the highest unlocked card which, at the start of the game is the Four. Completed chains score points as they disappear and more cards drop down from the top of the screen.

Each puzzle has a different objective such as collect eight Ace of Spades, collect thirty cards and so on. Later special locked cards are introduced, these must be unlocked by creating one or more sequences adjacent to them. The Jack, King and Queen also appear in puzzles, they cannot be included in a sequence and when they are present the task is usually to clear away the cards below them so that they drop from the game area.

Every few levels the player is invited to play a mini game which adds to their points score. Eventually these mini games are all unlocked and can be played outside the main game where they have their own scoreboards.

The game can be played in both Timed and Untimed modes.
