Alice in the Heart: Wonderful Wonder World
Description
Alice in the Heart: Wonderful Wonder World is a Japanese otome visual novel based on the classic British fantasy novel Alice in Wonderland. The player takes control of Alice Liddell, a young woman who finds herself lost in the fantastical world of Wonderland when the rabbit Peter White, who has an unrequited crush on Alice, tricks her into drinking a potion that traps her there. Despite its fairytale atmosphere, Wonderland is a dangerous place, with its inhabitants struggling over territory in conflicts that can easily turn deadly. Alice must choose carefully who to trust if she wants a chance of getting home, as well as decide whether it's possible to fall in love with a fairytale man.
The game uses a turn-based system to progress time. When the player uses the map to travel to a location, a turn is consumed, with the game taking 300 turns (200 in the console versions) to reach the ending. Each day is separated into morning, evening, and nighttime phases, with the availability of characters depending on the time of day. Each of the romanceable heroes has an affection meter which represents their affection to Alice and ultimately determines which ending the player gets.
The PS2 and PSP versions reduced the number of turns needed to reach the ending to 200 while expanding the story somewhat and adding more event CGs.
