AM2R: Return of Samus
Description
AM2R: Return of Samus is a fangame and a remake of Metroid II: Return of Samus using the art and play style of Metroid: Zero Mission and Metroid Fusion. Much like how Zero Mission updated the original Metroid game, AM2R adds gameplay elements from sequels and new elements while aiming to retain the feeling and structure of the original Game Boy title.
Players dive into the depths of SR388 as the famous bounty hunter Samus Aran in a critical mission to exterminate the last Metroids, a predator so dangerous it has struck fear into the hearts of the Galactic Federation. She gets to explore the remnants of the Chozo civilization and has to investigate the fate of the lost research and rescue teams.
Following the release Nintendo of America, Inc. filed a takedown request under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and the game was taken down on 2nd September 2016.
