&: Sora no Mukou de Saki Masuyou ni is a romance-oriented visual novel in which players take on the role of Kou, who returns to his hometown after several years and reunites with his childhood friends.

The story begins on a summer night when Kou and his friends see two moons in the sky, a phenomenon invisible to everyone else. Years later, Kou sees the double moons again and decides to return to his hometown to reconnect with the friends who witnessed the event with him. They gather beneath a peculiar tree they remember from the past, and a magical glow envelops them. Shortly after, each receives a magical item. Kou's item, 'Grace Wonder,' grants him the ability to fulfill someone else's wish.

The story truly begins when Kou's item is stolen, prompting him and his friends to find the thief and prevent the misuse of its power.
