Art Attack: My Stuff

Description

Art Attack was a UK children’s TV show that ran from 1990 to 2007. Art Attack: My Stuff is a game based on that show, it was one of four promotional titles exclusive to Kellogg's that were given away with their cereals in the UK. The other titles were Art Attack: Party Stuff, Art Attack: Building Stuff and Art Attack: Games & Stuff. Each title could be run individually but when installed together the content of each was available to all the others, the games contain projects that players can make from paper combined with digital painting functions that allow the creation of unique work.

Like many other titles the game starts with a log-on screen, however here the player selects their gender and then uses the splashes of colour to configure their avatar that’s used during the game.

The main menu is, by default, viewed as a desktop with hotspots for the various arty activities that are available, this can be changed to a text menu if required - the text view offers a better idea of the activities in all modules. The activities that come with the ‘My Stuff’ module are CD Cases; Door Hangers; Door Signs; Book Labels; Boxes; Bookmarks; Calendars (2007 only); Dear Diary Pages; Cards & Envelopes; Photo Frames; and Scrapbook Pages. There’s also a selection of Board Games from the Art Attack: Games & Stuff Module; Party Invitations and Crackers from the Art Attack: Party Stuff and Puppets from Art Attack: Building Stuff.

All the activities have some elements that the player can colour in via the computer prior printing and assembling. Each activity has multiple options, for example there are eight types of calendar and most have two forms of user assistance, an animated guide which shows how to fold the paper and where to put the glue etc, and a text guide that gives step by step instructions that can be printed.

All activities have a difficulty rating, work can be saved in a virtual album. Throughout the product the voice of Neil Buchanan is used on prompts, and some explanations.
