Assault Force
Description
Assault Force is a 1-player arcade game for the 8-bit Atari.
The vicious Wan-Wrote attacked Earth without warning and destroyed all space installations. The blood-thirsty (and hungry) aliens are now rounding up the survivors of the planet for use as slaves and food. A dedicated band of scientists have created a self-repairing shielded attack vehicle to defend the Earth. The Wan-Wroth have no sense of honor or fair play, but they do have limits to the resources they can lose in their fight for possession of the Earth. Can you convince them that the Earth is too costly a prize?
Played from a 1st person perspective, the vehicle can rotate 360 degrees, move forwards and backwards, and fire. The player attempts to destroy all enemy tanks on the level to advance to the next. The player has limited fuel used by movement, and must be replenished at fuel depots. When hit by enemy tanks, the player takes damage, and if receives enough hits is destroyed. The player must also contend with enemy jets and helicopters.
