Asteroids & Deluxe
Description
Asteroids & Deluxe is a re-release of the classic Asteroids game. Played on a single screen the player controls a space ship that can be moved around using rocket bursts. The aim it to shoot as many enemies and rocks as possible, of which the latter generally break up into smaller parts. Anything that disappears of the screen appears in a symmetrical line on the other side. When in trouble the ship can activate the hyperspace ability to get away and reappear at a random location, with the risk of immediately landing on an asteroid.
This release includes the classic black-and-white arcade version as well as a Deluxe version. The gameplay is identical but it has more modern graphics. There the hyperspace ability is replaced with a shield, without teleporting. Both games can be played in the Throttle Monkey mode where difficulty and game speed are set to maximum.
In the two-player mode each player alternates until the supply of ships is exhausted. An extra ship is provided for every 10,000 points scored.
