Atlantic Balloon Crossing

Description
Atlantic Balloon Crossing is a simulation for one to three players.
This is a simulation of the flight of the Double Eagle II hot air balloon crossing from Presque Isle, Maine, USA to Paris, France, which started August 11, 1978. The player controls the ballast and gas of their hot air balloon. Wind direction varies with altitude and position, and the player controls their flight path by adjusting their altitude. The player receives points based upon how close they come to Paris, France, and the time to their landing. The higher altitudes have more northerly winds. Ambient temperatures are expressed in Kalvin, and temperature changes during the day. The game is played from the sideview, where the player influences altitude, and time passes in quick 3 minute intervals. The radio can be used to determine player location, although the player is sometime outside of radio contact. The player has a limited supply of gas and ballast, and the player may not reach their destination if these run out. At altitude over 28,000 feet, gas is lost.
