Attax 2000

Attax 2000 is a French freeware adaptation of the strategy game Ataxx. It takes place on a 7 by 7 square board, with two players starting with two pawns in the opposite corners. Each turn, a player can clone one of his pawns onto an adjacent free square, or move a pawn two squares. The player can convert opponent's pawns into his by placing one of his pawns on a square adjacent to them. The game ends once neither player can make a move, at which point the player with more pawns on board wins.

The game offers a number of pre-made board layouts (with some squares removed from the board), and a level editor to create own layouts. The one-player game offers three difficulty levels.
