Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition - Siege of Dragonspear

Description

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition - Siege of Dragonspear is an add-on for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition (and not compatible with the original version). The story acts as a bridge between the end of Baldur's Gate and the beginning of Baldur's Gate II. The hero of Baldur's Gate has to face a new threat: The Shining Lady, who wreaks havoc in the Northern Lands and forms a huge army for her Holy Crusade.

The structure and scope of the game is similar to Throne of Bhaal: each chapter has only a small number of maps (plus sub-maps) which can be usually tackled in any order. After finishing the chapter, the areas become unavailable. While the first chapter consists of a few selected areas in Baldur's Gate, the following chapters consist of completely new maps (wilderness, populated areas and dungeons). The side quests are more involved than in Baldur's Gate, but less than in Baldur's Gate II - however, many take place on optional maps. The gameplay remains identical, with the exception of a few bigger fights which involve a big number of non-player characters which fight alongside the party. The new shaman class is a druid variant who can dance (summons spirits) and learns spells in a similar way the sorcerer class does.

During the journey, the hero will meet 15 characters who may join the party. Most of them are known from the predecessor (Baeloth, Dorn, Dynaheir, Edwin, Khalid, Minsc, Rhasaad, Jaheira, Neera, Safana and Viconia), but there are also four new companions: Corwin (Archer), Glint (Cleric/Thief), M'Khiin (Shaman) and Voghiln (Skald). All the characters have interactions with the world and each other (more than in Baldur's Gate, less than in Baldur's Gate II) and some of then can be romanced. With the exception of the prologue (imported party) and the epilogue (canon party), the selection is up to the player - at least among those members who were already met at this point.

Other changes are a new UI, a new quest log, a number of smaller optical changes (optional) and the two new difficulty levels story mode (practically an official god mode) and Legacy of Bhaal (harder than the previous hardest difficulty). All those were also patched into the base versions of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
