Bang Bang Racing
Description
Bang Bang Racing is an arcade racing game with short circuits in the tradition of titles such as Super Off Road where pushing opponents out of the way and bumping through corners is equally important as employing driving skills.
The three game modes are Career, Championships and Free Play. In the Career mode up to four racing classes with new circuits are unlocked gradually. Each racing class includes a separate set of cars with different characteristics such as agility, strength, acceleration or nitro. In the races opponents always drive the same car as the player. In the career mode there are different racing types including time trial, regular circuit tracks and elimination. Players also get to unlock different skins for each car.
The racing is done arcade-style from an almost top-down view. For certain corners the camera also turns. Tracks have different heights, jumps, and are littered with explosive barrels, plastic cones, shortcuts, and oil that slows down the cars. Next to steering and acceleration the cars can also brake. Braking needs to be used in combination with acceleration to drift through corners. In addition there is nitro to gain additional speed. It is however limited but generates automatically over time. Cars have a health meter and they can drive through a pit lane to have it restored. The amount of health also determines the car's performance. Certain surfaces slow down the cars as well.
The Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions offers head-to-head local multiplayer through a split-screen for up to four players.
