Game cover: Battle Stations: The Saga of the U.S.S. Houston

Description

Battle Stations: The Saga of the U.S.S. Houston a strategy game set during World War II. The game simulates the Battle of Makassar Strait, a conflict between US and Japanese naval forces in the Pacific. Players take turns moving their forces across the map, scouting, and attacking opponents. The primary gameplay occurs on an overhead map, with the screen transitioning to a tactical battle view when two forces engage. During these tactical battles, players give orders to individual ships. Optionally, the forces can be freely placed on the map when starting a new game.

In addition to the strategic mode, the game offers a tactical playing mode. Players can choose their faction (Allied or Japanese), set the battle length in days (available only in strategy mode), and engage in multiplayer battles.

The Second Edition, released in 1992, introduced the ability to give orders to computer-controlled forces.
