Battlefield 2

Description
Battlefield 2 is a single-player and multiplayer first-person shooter set in a near-future global conflict. The game depicts a hypothetical war in which the United States, China, and the Middle Eastern Coalition (MEC) fight for dominance across a variety of large-scale battlefields. Players take the role of infantry soldiers or vehicle operators and can also rise through the ranks to act as squad leaders or overall commander, directing the flow of combat across the map.
Combat is based on combined arms, with players able to control modern military vehicles such as tanks, armored personnel carriers, helicopters, and jet aircraft. Infantry have access to a wide range of weapons and gadgets depending on their chosen class. The seven classes include assault, medic, engineer, support, anti-tank, special forces, and sniper, each with unique abilities that support different playstyles and team roles. Engineers can repair vehicles, medics revive fallen teammates, and support troops resupply ammunition, while assault soldiers provide frontline firepower.
Multiplayer battles are designed for up to 64 players and are fought over large maps divided into control points. Capturing and holding flags reduces the opposing team’s “tickets,” a shared pool of reinforcements. Victory is achieved by draining the enemy’s tickets to zero. Players can join squads that function as small tactical units, with squad leaders able to request supplies, reinforcements, or transportation. The commander role provides a strategic layer, granting access to satellite scans, UAV surveillance, supply drops, and artillery strikes, all of which can turn the tide of battle.
Progression is tied to a persistent online ranking system and in-game leaderboards. Successful actions such as kills, flag captures, and team support grant experience points that increase a player’s rank, unlocking new weapons and awards. Badges, ribbons, and medals are earned for achieving specific feats, and the highest-ranking players gain access to additional customization options.
The game also features a single-player mode against AI-controlled bots across the same maps used online, though the focus remains on multiplayer. Battlefield conditions vary depending on the map, including urban combat in city streets, desert warfare across open terrain, and amphibious assaults from carriers such as the USS Essex.
