Beaver Builder

Description

Beaver Builder is a puzzle platformer game with a side view. The player controls Bonzo the beaver, who must get through various construction sites while collecting stars. To finish each level, Bonzo must reach the exit, which requires carefully climbing ladders and pushing crates. Bonzo cannot jump, and he dies if he falls from a height of three tiles or higher. Falling into spikes or getting crushed by a crate also results in death. Bonzo cannot pull crates, can only push one crate at a time, and cannot move a crate with another crate on top of it, so the player must be careful not to get stuck.

Later levels introduce blobby crates, which always manage to cushion Bonzo's fall regardless of its height, and non-pushable remotely-operated crates which can be materialized and dematerialized by stepping on a button.

Collecting all stars is not necessary to complete a level, but they give 50 points each and the game keeps tracks of record scores. The player also receives 100 points for exiting a level. Collecting the maximum possible number of stars in all levels rewards the player with a bonus animation.

The game is divided into seven environments with five levels each, with later levels unlocked by completing earlier ones. After completing a level the player can save his actions as a recorded replay. A built-in level editor is also available.
