Beetle
Description
Beetle is a single-screen shareware game where you avoid enemies and collect baby grubs before you can exit the screen using a teleporter. The overall goal is to reach the top of a garden wall before the green beetle, but there are 100 levels that need to be completed first.
The gameplay is reminiscent of Bubble Bobble. Most enemies can be killed by jumping on top of them a few times. There are acid pools that are deadly, but water is safe as long as you keep jumping. Steam jets and poles add to the platforming mechanics. Damaged blocks can be destroyed for bonus points and extra lives. It features four sub games and a level editor.
