Bruiser

Description

Bruiser is a boxing game for the TRS-80, played over 10 rounds. The player plays against a computer opponent known as 'Bruiser'. The action takes place in real-time and is shown from a side view. The player can move toward or away from the opponent, but can also move sideways right or left, which in practice is up or down on the screen, respectively. The player or the opponent gain points by hitting the other in the face. In practice, because of the way the animation works, the player must be slightly above the opponent (i.e. to the right of the opponent) to score a hit, and vice versa. The opponent will knock out the player if the opponent scores a few hits in succession without the player reacting. However, the opponent cannot be knocked out and the player can only win by decision. To do so, the player must both score a great deal of points and also score considerably more points than the opponent.
