Castle Crashers: Remastered
Description
Castle Crashers: Remastered is an updated version of the original Castle Crashers. The new features include textures that are five times as large, an improved framerate to 60 fps (Xbox One) or uncapped (PC), and a new mini-game titled Back Off Barbarian! and other changes. It also has an update for the multiplayer to find online games more quickly.
The Xbox One remaster includes all DLC for the original game, such as the Necromantic Pack, the King Pack, and more. Special characters included are King, Open Faced Gray Knight, Necromancer, Cult Minion, Blacksmith, Pink Knight, Alien Hominid, and Hatty Hattington. It also has the Special Animal Orbs called Pelter, Dragonhead, and Golden Whale. Most of these need to be unlocked through the Insane Store or the Insane game mode. For the PC version DLC is not carried over and Pink Knight Pack and Blacksmith Pack were kept as separate purchases.
A standalone version was only released on Xbox One, while the original Castle Crashers release on Steam got the remastered features via a free update. The save data of the 360 version can be carried over to import it in the new version, to start with the unlocks. In some cases owners of the 360 version with an Xbox Gold Live subscription could receive it for free or for a reduced price.
