Chibi Knight

Description
Chibi Knight is a 2D action game, blending light RPG progression with fast, platformer-style combat. Players take control of the titular Chibi Knight as she sets out to save the kingdom of Oukoku from three colossal beasts and the demonic forces spreading across the island.
Exploration takes place on a freely navigable overworld map, where enemies roam in real time. Walking into an enemy triggers a battle arena: a compact platforming section filled with waves of foes that must be defeated to earn experience. Battles can be exited at any time, but only fully cleared encounters count toward progression. Combat mixes melee sword attacks with unlockable magic spells.
Defeating enemies grants XP, which is used to upgrade armor, sword, and magic along separate progression paths. Armor upgrades reduce incoming damage, sword upgrades increase attack power, and magic upgrades strengthen spells while lowering their energy cost. This system allows players to specialize in durability, offense, spellcasting, or a balanced build.
Magic plays a central role in combat and exploration. Spells such as Bomb Attack, Magic Shield, Healing, and Magic Fire are learned from wizards scattered across the world, often hidden behind side quests or environmental puzzles. Magic energy is replenished by collecting energy jars during combat, while health is restored through hearts dropped by enemies.
Progression is gated by key items obtained from bosses and optional challenges. Tools like the Magic Boots, which allow walking on water, or the Ax, which enables cutting down trees, open up new regions and secrets across the map.
The campaign culminates in a series of distinctive boss fights, each built around clear mechanics and pattern recognition, from the elemental beasts guarding the island to the three Guardian Knights and the multi-phase Demon Beast finale. Upon completion, players receive a performance rank based on equipment levels and deaths.
