Cluster
Description
Cluster sees a triangular body with its wake in an indefinite space populated with quadrilateral blocks and other flashing geometrical bodies.
The triangular shape advances permanently. It is boosted by holding down left and right arrow keys, while a single key changes the direction of its progress. Contact with any object is fatal at normal speed, but non-flashing blocks are shattered if run into while boosting, and award one point each. The gameplay consists in avoiding the flashing stuff, boosting to break through blocks, all of this while avoiding a flashing shape covering the whole play area in width, that is constantly moving towards the triangle.
The game is high-score-oriented. There are different difficulty levels (game modes), each available when the previous one is completed. A game mode consists of six stages, a new one for every twenty points achieved: plays don't end at 120 points however, the last stage continuing till a mistake is committed. In "Ultra mode", the play areaspins, while the direction from which the screen-wide flashing body approaches varies.
The visuals and electronic sound track are psychedelic, and might remind of Super Hexagon, as the electronic voice does. Track order varies from game to game; the colour of blocks is one at any given time, and changes by stages following a set order.
