College Scholarship Tycoon
Description
College Scholarship Tycoon is a short management game where the player is asked to evaluate candidates for admission to a fictional college. They are shown 10 candidates at a time, with each profile showing the student's SAT score and expected financial need. After choosing five or six and rejecting the others, the player must then decide how much financial aid each accepted student gets out of a limited budget.
The ultimate goal is to improve the college's overall rankings over three rounds; this is measured by the average SAT score of the student body. Thus the player is incentivized to admit students with higher SAT scores at the expense of socioeconomic diversity, as poorer students are more likely to have lower scores, as well as requiring more financial aid.
