Colonial Conquest

Colonial Conquest is a strategy game based on the rules of the original Colonial Conquest from 1985. This release is a complete remake from scratch. Like the original, it is a turn-based strategy game, taking place in the 19th century. The main dominant empires and nations of this period (USA, United Kingdom, France, German Empire, Japanese Empire, Russian Empire) launch their colonial expansion, looking for military and economic supremacy around the world.

The game focuses mainly on invasions of "minor" nations, in Africa, Asia, South America, to grow nation incomes and expansions. In a second objective, the nations enter in war against each other. The military rules are focused on two unit types: armies and fleets. Armies are necessary to invade regions, fleets can carry armies around the world to help them to disembark. The gameplay is always split up in three phases in the same sequence: Build, Movement and Combat.

Other game options to take on the world: spying on regions to discover important information, bribe the local region elites, help other nations to defend themselves against common adversaries, fortify defenses. The game has many specials events and achievements to unlock.

Three scenarios are present: 1880 (historical setting), 1914 (historical positions), circa 1870 (free-for-all non-historical where nations only own their starting home territories).
