Description
Cross Atlantic is an American-style crossword puzzle published by The Telegraph newspaper as part of its puzzles and games section. The game is also available as part of the Telegraph Puzzles app.
American-style puzzles utilize more of the grid and have less black squares (blank squares), while British-style crosswords have a more even distribution of black squares. The clues are also worded differently, with British-style puzzles favoring word definitions and eschewing two-letter words, while American-style crosswords will use a lot of trivia, abbreviations and often have an overall theme.
As an American-style crossword, Cross Atlantic thus follows a theme and incorporates a lot of trivia and wordplay, but all of the clues and answers will be specific to the United Kingdom.
