Crossword

Crossword is an early word-based puzzle game for the Apple II.

In Crossword, the player must guess clues from a series of interlocking word puzzles to fill in the entire game area. The player moves about the board using text commands, and when they select a tile, they are given the corresponding question. If an answer does not fit the number of blanks, or previously placed perpendicular words do not allow the answer, the answer is disqualified. The game came preloaded with a number of puzzles, but also gave players the ability to make their own crossword puzzle. The player could also print off puzzles to play without the computer.
