Dark Echo

Dark Echo is a minimalist top-down horror game. The player is trapped in darkness, and needs to find the exit in each level. This is made possible by sound echos, which will show the general location of walls, switches, exits, and dangers. Sound can be generated from footsteps, or by clapping. But there are also monsters that lurk in the dark, and track their prey using sound waves, so there are times where silence, and therefore stealth, is required. But stealth leaves the player unable to see danger. The game comes with 80 levels.

Dark Echo is an expanded version of the game You Must Escape, made for Ludum Dare 26.
