Defender

Defender is a TRS-80 CoCo clone of the original arcade Defender.

Defender puts players in charge of a ship sent to protect mankind from wave after wave of attacking alien forces. The player controls a ship that moves in all directions, and fires directly forwards. Enemy aliens try to attack the player, and also swoop down and attempt to abduct humans at the bottom of the screen. The player is armed with a limited number of smart bombs which destroy all enemies on the screen, and can warp around the game play area. The player's ship must fight against Bombers, Pods, Swarmers, Baiters, and Landers. Fail to save the humanoids from freefall or Mutant transformation, and the planet is destroyed. A map of approaching aliens and humans are shown on the screen, and the player starts with 3 lives.
