Demons Ring

Long ago, there was a country called Elemia that lay three days' march to the east and four days' march to the south. The king of that time, A. Crowley, was a good king, sincere and faithful to God. He loved his people, and his people loved him back. This wonderful kingdom was filled with laughter and joy in every corner of it, so much so that one could have believed oneself to be in paradise. However, the evil demon king Sarōn was resurrected from the prison of the dark ages and attacked Elemia with evil spirits. Elemia was left in ruins, and the people trembled in fear. Crowley, the king of Elemia, entrusted his youngest son Dumulin to the wise man Roibos. Eventually, Dumulin grew into a fine adult, and the wise man Roibos told him the secret of his birth.

Demons Ring is a Japanese graphic text adventure in which you take the role of Dumulin, the son of Crowley, the king of Elemia, who must fight against the demon king Sarōn and save Elemia. There are basic room descriptions and the commands to be given are expressed in katakana: "Noun" + "Verb". For example: ﾄﾞｱ ﾐﾙ (OPEN DOOR). To navigate through the locations type "NORTH" (ｷﾀ), "SOUTH" (ﾐﾅﾐ), "WEST" (ﾆｼ), "EAST" (ﾋｶﾞｼ), "UP" (ｳｴ) and "DOWN" (ｼﾀ). In some situations, if the first command you enter is incorrect, the game will end when you enter the next command (not immediately). In this case, even if the second command is correct. Later on there are monsters, and you cannot go any further unless you defeat them if you have a weapon. If you enter the wrong command, you will be killed and sent to the grave.

The main game is divided into two parts: the first half takes place outdoors, centering on a cursed house, and the second half takes place in an underground cave maze. Only "command" directions in the maze are accepted.

You can save your game by entering the command "セーブ", then choose a slot between 1 and 9. To resume a saved game enter "ロード", then specify the location of the save you want to load.
