Desert of the Dead

Desert of the Dead is a short, action-adventure with a fantasy-western setting. A nameless wanderer returns home, finding the villages emptied and surrounding wilderness overrun by bandits and zombies.

The game is controlled like a twin-stick shooter with the mouse used for aiming. There is also a limited-use ability to teleport.
Most levels end when all enemies are killed but a few simple adventure scenes are interspersed between combat scenes. Taking a single hit restarts the current level, and some levels also feature additional objectives like protecting a person. Certain levels will replace your weapon with a machine gun or shotgun.

Due to the wanderer's powers being dependant on the sun, for indoor levels the gameplay shifts temporarily to become more survival horror-like, with limited ammunition, no teleportation ability and a greater need for exploration.
