Diana Fortune in the Lost Temple of Gold
Description
Diana Fortune in the Lost Temple of Gold was a tongue-in-cheek parody of Tomb Raider in which a frumpy, middle-aged woman uses her wits to find treasures within archeological sites.
The player's avatar, Diana, starts in the center of a grid-based map. The map is procedurally generated and partially filled with obstacles and colored tiles. The colored tiles have several different shapes on them. The mouse cursor displays a tile with a color and a shape, too. The player can only place the tile next to any other tiles that share a color or shape with that tile.
The player's goal is to create a path of tiles from Diana's current position to one or more of the treasure tiles scattered about the map. When a path is finished, Diana travels to each connected treasure tile and find a new treasure. Bonus points are earned depending on the number of treasures that have been collected along the path. Once all of the treasures on a map are collected, a new map is generated.
The original version was made in Java and released in 2009 on the Big Fish Games Online Community social game portal. A Flash version was later released in 2010 for Big Fish Games' Treasure Quest Facebook app.
In the 2010 re-release, a higher-level map was also procedurally generated. A network of rooms similar to that in the rogue-like genres would be generated. Diana could move from room to room searching for treasures, and each room's puzzle map could be rendered in one of several graphical themes.
