Doctor Who: The Gunpowder Plot

Doctor Who: The Gunpowder Plot is an adventure game based on the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. It was intended to be the first in a second series of Doctor Who: The Adventure Games to accompany the TV series in 2011, but further games never materialized.

The Gunpowder Plot stars the Eleventh Doctor, his companion Amy Pond, and Amy's boyfriend, Rory Williams. While leaving Liao-dynasty China following a misguided attempt to acquire a Chinese takeaway, the Doctor's time machine, the TARDIS, collides with an alien spacecraft that causes dimensional lesions to appear and the spacecraft to crash on Earth. The TARDIS follows the spaceship to London, 1605, where the Doctor and his companions discover that the city has become the latest battleground in the war between the Sontarans and the Rutans. In addition, the gang realizes that they have arrived on the night of Guy Fawkes' infamous attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament. The Doctor, Amy, and Rory must stop the dimensional lesions and the alien plot while avoiding being caught up in Fawkes's explosive plans.

The player switches between controlling the Eleventh Doctor, Amy, and Rory throughout the game. Gameplay primarily consists of exploration and puzzle-solving, with elements of stealth. NPCs can be talked to to gain more information about the story, environment or puzzles, with multiple dialogue options available to use during conversation. The game features music from the show and the main cast reprising their roles.
