Doom Eternal

Description
Doom Eternal is a single-player and multiplayer first-person shooter game. The story continues from the events of Doom (2016), placing the player once again in the role of the Doom Slayer. Earth has been overrun by demonic forces, and humanity is on the brink of annihilation. Guided by cryptic allies and haunted by ancient rivalries, the Slayer travels across dimensions to hunt the leaders of Hell’s invasion and cut off the demonic incursion at its source.
Gameplay focuses on fast-paced combat that demands aggressive movement and resource management. The Slayer uses a wide arsenal of weapons, including the shotgun, plasma rifle, rocket launcher, and the returning super shotgun equipped with a grappling-meat hook. Each weapon features multiple upgradeable mods, offering alternate fire modes such as sticky grenades or microwave beams. Precision is rewarded, as targeting specific demon weak points can disable their strongest attacks.
The combat loop revolves around controlled resource balancing. Health is replenished through brutal melee executions called glory kills, armor is restored by setting enemies on fire with the shoulder-mounted flamethrower, and ammunition is gained by using the chainsaw. These interconnected systems encourage players to remain constantly offensive, using every tool available to sustain survival. Larger demons require strategic dismantling, often demanding juggling of multiple weapons and abilities to exploit their weaknesses.
Progression is tied to collectibles, weapon points, and suit upgrades. The Slayer’s Praetor suit can be enhanced with exploration perks, environmental resistance, or utility improvements. Runes provide combat modifiers such as slowing down time during mid-air aiming or extending execution range. Players explore levels with platforming segments that include wall-climbing, double-jumping, and dash mechanics to reach secrets or optional encounters. Systems also include the Fortress of Doom, a hub area where upgrades, cosmetics, and lore entries can be unlocked. Hidden Slayer Gates present challenging combat arenas that reward special keys needed for powerful weapons. Exploration yields cheat codes, collectible toys, and audio logs.
Multiplayer is offered in the form of Battlemode, an asymmetrical 2v1 mode where two players control demons with special abilities while a third plays as the Doom Slayer. Loadouts and strategies differ depending on whether the player fights as a demon or the Slayer.
Compared to its predecessor, Doom Eternal expands platforming mechanics, increases enemy variety, and deepens combat systems with resource interdependence. The campaign spans Earth, Hell, and alien realms.
