Dots: A Game About Connecting

Game cover: Dots: A Game About Connecting

Description

Dots: A Game About Connecting is a simple puzzle game. The player is presented with a 6x6 grid of dots, and can connect adjacent dots of the same color horizontally or vertically by dragging his finger. Connecting two or more dots causes them to disappear; closing a line makes all dots of this color disappear from the board. Removing dots causes other dots above to fall, and new ones appear on the board. Each removed dot gives 1 point. There are three game modes, Timed (gain as much score as possible within 60 seconds), Moves (you have unlimited time but only 30 moves) and Endless (no limits; this mode must be bought via an in-app purchase). There's also a Challenge feature where the player can compete with another player online.

There are three items available for use during the game: Time Stops to add 5 seconds or 5 moves (depending on the game mode), Shrinkers that remove any chosen dot from the board, and Expanders that instantly remove all dots of a given color. These power-ups can only be used a limited number of times. After finishing a game, all dots cleared by the player go to the "bank", and can be used to purchase additional uses for the power-ups. Dots can also be added to the bank by gaining achievements, or bought with in-app purchases. The player can also purchase a permanent "Dot Doubler" item which doubles the amount of dots that go into the bank.
