Dragons: Fire & Ice

Dragons Metal Ages is a series of figures and buildings from Mega Bloks Dragons Universe series that was released in the early 2000's. In support of the later Dragons: Metal Ages merchandise a promotional CD was released which had details of the figures that were available, wallpapers, videos and the game Dragons: Fire & Ice. Much of the content was not on the disc, for example once a wallpaper had been selected it had to be downloaded from the Mega Bloks website.

The game Dragons: Fire and Ice that is featured on this CD tucked away as a menu item in the 'Extras' section. The story behind the game is that Xenoz, the baddie, has divided the Fire Krystal into small pieces. The player's task is to collect all the pieces and take them to the top of Dragon Mountain to defeat Xenoz. The krystal shards are guarded by Vorgons who will attack on sight so they must be avoided where possible - especially as the player is unarmed throughout the first level.

It is a single player, keyboard controlled, game in which the player, playing as either Dev or Kyra, explores all areas of a map looking for krystals and a the key to the next level. The CD only contains the first level of the game, when the player completes this level they are given their score along with the message "Finish the game at megabloks.com" at which point the game attempts to open a web page which, alas in 2022, is no longer present.

The game developer's website says, among other things, that the game was developed in just a few weeks and took around an hour and a half to complete.
